Free Pattern: Little Ladybug Lens Buddy Pattern

It seems like a bit of a milestone for me, though I imagine that it doesn’t really matter to anyone else (haha!)–my jkwdesigns Etsy shop is now officially closed, which means that more free pattern are headed your way! I’m going to be working diligently to get all those patterns posted as quickly as possible, but please be patient with me because 3 kids and motherhood tend to get in the way of me getting much done EVER. If there’s a pattern that you’re in a hurry to get that haven’t been posted yet, please head over to Ravelry as those pattern listings are being updated as I post the patterns online.

So, let’s get to it! When I was on my lens buddy making spree, the ladybug is one of the very first that I designed because I just couldn’t resist. I love ladybugs. They’re just so damn cute! My very first tattoo is of a little ladybug on my shoulder blade, and nearly 20 years later, sometimes it seems silly to have a cute little ladybug tattooed on me, but it reminds me of who I was when I was 18 and the people who were and are such an important part of my life.

All of the lens buddy patterns are appropriate for intermediate beginner crocheters who are familiar with working in the round. This pattern uses single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, half treble crochet, and treble crochet stitches. I’m all for simplicity when it comes to knitting and crocheting, so I’m a big fan of making the fewest number of pieces that have to be sewn together, but there’s no way around the individual black dots that go on the ladybug.
